With leather as her medium Georgina Brett Chinnery creates tactile contemporary forms and interior objects which exploit traditional leather working techniques.
Her work delves in to the intricacies of the natural world which together with an interest in the late -Victorian Arts and Crafts movement produces a set of highly skilled one off pieces. She is inspired by the diversity of living things, the beauty and texture in nature, the delicate forms underlying a strength of life and its ultimate demise.
For the second year Georgina has received the prestigious Cockpit Arts / Leathersellers' Award enabling her to create a new body of work - large sculptural interior objects together with a collection of individual leather birds..
Her work has been shown in London and Paris as well as featuring in numerous publications. She has pieces in private collections worldwide and has worked with TV and film.
